I know this is a few months late, but I wanted to put something up of my adventures at Hamvention 2025!

I had a blast at Hamvention this year! I didn’t attend a ton of the forums, but I did attend the YLRL (Young Ladies Relay League) forum on Friday.

I bought a few things, most notably a new Icom 2730A transceiver, along with a small antenna. I don’t particular trust my hardware/electrical skills quite yet, so I had it professionally installed a few weeks after Hamvention. It’s only a 2m/70cm transceiver, but it works pretty well with my 18" mag-mount antenna on the roof of my car. I may post separately about that with pictures of the installation in my car. I’ve made a handful of contacts on 146.520 (simplex) across the central Ohio area.

It was great to see many familiar faces! I bumped into a few friends I met two years ago at my first Hamvention, and I also bumped into a few other friends from the Columbus area. I live posted on my Mastodon account while I was there. I didn’t post a ton of pictures, but I did post a few. That’s also why my blog posts have dwindled a little over the past year or so. (But! I’m slowly working on that.)

Overall, it was a great hamfest! This year I actually made it a priority to check out the swap area instead of just the big name vendors. I think I found someone that can do a tower installation, who is available in the midwest part of the U.S., as I really don’t want to do the installation myself.

Here are a few pictures I took over the weekend:
