For various reasons, sometimes I like to do remote operation (FT8) of my base station that I have set up at home.
I activated my first park for “Parks on the Air” (aka: POTA) on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 in the morning.
Two years ago I bought a cheap DMR hotspot on Amazon for about $100. I went to use it for the first time in a while but I discovered it was broken.
Occasionally I’ve been on Telegram in a few ham radio chats and wanted to lookup a call sign via QRZ.com. Not seeing any options, I decided to write my own.
One of the things I’ve been craving for my ham radio station/toolkit is the ability to operate portably on HF. Whether that is for emergency purposes or for POTA (Parks on the Air), I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now.
